Animal Care and Horticulture – Inclusive Learning
PLEASE NOTE: Our Inclusive Learning courses are for those with learning disabilities or Education, Health and Care Plans.
Learn how to take care of animals, plants and the environment, as well as improving your personal skills and self-confidence.
What will I do?
From working in our new horticulture centre, to learning how to take care of a wide range of animals and wildlife, you can expect to work hard and learn lots of new skills relevant to the industry. You will learn about growing fruit, vegetables and produce which is then sold on to the community, learning how to plant and look after them. You will receive hands on experience with a variety of animals including chickens, guinea pigs and reptiles. Helping to organise events such as ‘Face Your Fears’ and experiencing working on a real farm, you will gain transferable skills that will come in handy when searching for employment.
All the knowledge and experience you gain from your course will position you to enter a job in an animal care or horticulture setting. You can use the contacts you gained during work experience to help you secure this. You could also move on to further study at college.
