Every year in the UK, more than one in three adults aged over 65 falls and injures themselves as a result. Falls have been the most common and serious type of accident experienced by people over 65 got many years, as well a the leading cause of death from injury for people over 75.
Falls and injuries from falls can affect a person’s confidence impact on their mental health and quality of life, and prevent a person from living independently, It is crucial that those working in the health and care sector are aware of how to prevent falls and to take care of someone who has experienced a fall. This course will equip learners with a detailed understanding of the impact and consequences of a fall, the risks and hazards that could result in a fall, and how to prevent or reduce the risk of falls.

Unit 2: The risk factors and causes of falls
Unit 3: Falls assessment and prevention

You must already hold a L1 or equivalent English qualification
Entry requirements
All applicants must be at least 19 years of age to enrol for the course and have a good level of English skills to a minimum of Level One standard.
Applicants aged 19-23 are only eligible if they have already achieved a full Level 2 qualification or equivalent. Please contact us for clarification if required.
Applicants aged 24+ do not require any prior academic qualifications, but do need to meet the required standard of English skills. Applicants must have lived in the EU for the last three years, currently reside in England, with a postcode outside of London, Greater Manchester, Liverpool City, Cambridge & Peterborough, Tees Valley, and the West Midlands. Please contact providers in your local area for alternative options.
How will I be assessed?
This course requires the completion and passing of four short tutor marked online unit assessments. Learners are allocated a course tutor who will mark assessments and are able to offer support through the online learning platform.
What kind of qualification is this??
Learners will receive a nationally recognised qualification by successfully completing this course. The Level 2 Certificate in Falls Prevention Awareness is awarded by TQUK.
