Course overview
PLEASE NOTE: Our Inclusive Learning courses are for those with learning disabilities or Education, Health and Care Plans.
Inclusive Learning students get support from teaching and support staff throughout their course. They will develop practical skills and gain a qualification alongside personal skills such as communication and self-confidence. These will all help with whatever you would like to do in the future.
What will I do?
You can expect to develop your study skills to study at a higher level, or go into employment. You will also develop your IT skills, and plan and take part in a number of projects.
You will gain and develop skills relatable to a number of different industries, as well as English and maths skills. You will take part in taster sessions with different departments in the College to help you work out what you might like to study next.
You will be supported by our friendly team, and will develop your personal skills, such as confidence and self-esteem, as well as gaining qualifications for the future. Assessments have been designed to give you the opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and experience needed within a range of industry environments. You will continuously be assessed throughout set project work and practical assessments.
You will be required to attend College for a minimum of 16 hours a week, which will be taught sessions, including project work and online learning, the rest will be homework and assessments. You can expect to be in College for up to 4 days per week and classes will normally be between 9am and 5pm.
What’s next?
Studying this course will allow you to progress to a Level 1 study programme in our Inclusive Learning department or with a different department at Milton Keynes College. You could also progress into employment.
Is it for me?
You must have an EHCP in place to study this course. If you want to gain skills to help you move onto further study or employment, as well as improve your personal skills, such as self-confidence and independence, this course is for you.
