INTRODUCTION

Inclusive Learning students receive support from teaching and support staff throughout their Study Programmes. They will learn new practical skills and personal skills such as confidence and self-esteem, all while gaining a qualification to help them in the future.

While studying Retail and Business, you will focus on a wide range of retail and business-related units and industry-based scenarios. You will also study English & Maths to develop the skills needed to progress in the workplace.

What will I do?

You will develop skills in Customer service, Communication, Working safely in a retail environment, Handling money in a sales situation, Working with customers and colleagues, Working in retail and in business, Handling stock in a retail environment and Displaying merchandise.

You will also work on various projects including choosing sale items for a shop, Designing window displays and Hosting themed sales.

What’s next?

Studying this programme will allow you to progress to a higher-level programme at Milton Keynes College or into employment if appropriate.

Entry Requirements

EHC (Educational Health Care) plan and to have completed an Entry Level 2 qualification or be working towards Entry Level 3.

HOW WILL MY PROGRESS BE MONITORED?

You will have regular 1:1 meetings and assesmnets.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

Assessments have been designed to give you the opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and experience needed within a range of industry environments. You will continuously be assessed throughout set project work and practical assessments.

HOW MUCH WILL I HAVE TO STUDY?

You will be required to attend college for a minimum of 16 hours, which will be taught sessions, including project work and online learning. The rest will be homework and assessments. You can expect to be in College for up to 4 days per week, and classes will normally be between 9am and 5pm.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Working in our own shop “Inclusively Yours”, you will be responsible to stock, display and sell our items using your best customer services skills!
