559 Milton Keynes College students offered university places
Students at Milton Keynes College Group are looking forward to bright and exciting futures this morning as they open their results, including A Level, BTecs and T Levels.
559 of them have offers of university places with dozens more set to follow through the Clearing process. Others are ready to take on further study with the College Group including higher apprenticeships, or to begin the new careers they’ve worked so hard to enter.
The College Group achieved a 94% pass rate in T Levels with an impressive 61% being awarded the top-graded distinction or merit. In science and care professions there was a hugely pleasing 100% pass rate.
In A Levels, almost half of all students achieved grades A* – C, the highest grades available. Particularly impressive subject performances include in Media Studies, Sociology and English Language and Literature, all of which saw 100% pass rates. The College Group is now expected to rank in the top 10% of providers nationally for Media Studies and the top 25% for English.
Milton Keynes College Group Chief Executive and Principal, Sally Alexander MBE says, “The students receiving their A Level results are our first cohort since we began offering the qualifications, and many of them will be delighted with the results they’ve achieved, and the wonderful, opportunity-filled futures that are opening up for them. We congratulate them all along with their teachers who’ve put heart and soul into giving them a brilliant start in their adult lives.
This September we’re offering an incredible range of twenty-one A Level subjects, and I can only imagine how excited our next group of students must be to be preparing to take on their new studies in a college environment.
The T Level results are amazing and equal congratulations go to those learners and the people who’ve taught and supported them, along with the local businesses that have provided the industry placements that are such an important element of their qualifications. As the government presses for genuine parity of esteem between academic and vocational learning choices, T Levels will play a fast-growing role in the opportunities from which young people will choose.”
