Course overview
It won’t be long until self-driving cars are a part of our every-day lives, but what they can’t do is make or repair themselves.
With over 39 million vehicles registered for use on UK roads, this means that there is and always will be a huge demand for mechanics and vehicle technicians.
Practical skills and logical thinking are required in the industry, along with patience and a determination to succeed.
What will I do?
From essential health and safety rules and regulations, to tools and equipment used in light vehicle maintenance and repair, you will get used to using industry-standard equipment and prepare for life in a busy working motor vehicle garage. You will learn the ins and outs of job roles and responsibilities in the motor industry, and be supported to work out what it is you’d like to do.
What’s next?
This course is the perfect place to start to progress on to an Advanced level of learning.
Is it for me?
You must have a keen interest in motor vehicles and a desire to learn how they work as well as how to maintain and repair them. You will be supported to gain the required study skills, as well as practical and theoretical knowledge within our motor vehicle workshops. You will get to grips with the equipment used in the industry, preparing to put what you learn into practice.
