What will I do?

You’ll study two key modules:

  • Working in the Business Environment
  • Using Numbers in Business

You’ll learn how to work professionally, manage your time, handle workplace communication, and understand the flow of money in a business. You’ll also gain confidence using basic numerical skills, including percentages, ratios, and presenting data clearly.

What’s next?

This course gives you a great foundation to move into the world of work or continue learning. Many students go on to further AAT courses in bookkeeping or accountancy.

You could also find work in roles such as:

  • Data entry clerk
  • Accounts administrator
  • Administrative assistant
  • Receptionist
  • Customer service advisor
  • Retail assistant
  • Dispatch clerk/warehouse operative

Is it for me?

This course is great for anyone looking to gain business knowledge, whether to support your own small business, change careers, or continue your learning journey. You’ll need to be motivated, willing to ask questions, and happy to get stuck into the learning – it’s a fast-paced course, so good organisation will help.

Entry requirements

There are no specific qualifications, but you do need to be confident working with numbers and in your written and spoken English.

  • Learn core workplace skills used across every industry
  • Build confidence with real-life business scenarios
  • Develop your understanding of sales, purchases, and documentation
  • Boost your numeracy for both work and everyday life
  • Suitable for a wide range of career paths or further study

You’ll receive regular feedback from your tutor, including practice assessments and support to help you feel fully prepared.

You’ll complete one final online assessment at the end of the course.

Classes run weekly, and you’ll need to set aside 3–4 hours for private study and revision between sessions.

AAT qualifications are universally respected and internationally recognised. Organisations hire AAT qualified members for their knowledge, skills, diligence and enthusiasm because AAT represents the highest standards of professionalism.

In short, an AAT qualification is a route to some of the most in-demand skills in the world and provides our students and members with a professional status to be proud of.

There are two options for this course, a daytime class or an evening class. You can discuss this with your tutor at interview.

The majority of classes are face to face at our Chaffron Way campus but some sessions may be held online.
