Milton Keynes College’s second cohort of T Level students received their results today. Students excelled in a range of courses including Construction, Digital Production, Engineering and Manufacturing and Education and Early Years, with all learners in Construction and Education receiving high pass grades of either Merit or Distinction.

The overall pass rate for the College’s T Level students was 92%. 445 students also received their BTEC results today, with 87% of those who passed achieving a merit or distinction, an improvement on previous years.

T Levels are a two-year qualification designed to be a technical alternative to A Levels, bringing classroom learning and an extended industry placement together on a course designed with businesses and employers. After completing their T Level qualifications, students can progress onto further study at university, additional training such as an apprenticeship or directly into employment.

Many of the College’s students were delighted with their results, including those studying the T Level in Early Years Education:

“I’m very happy with my result. I’d struggled in Sixth Form, so I made the decision to move to the College and everyone here has been so supportive and helpful. My confidence has increased and I’m much happier. I’m going to University of West England in Bristol to get a teaching degree.” (Logan Valour)

“I’ve got what I needed to get to uni so I’m very happy! The College listened to my story and reassured me that whatever I needed they would do their best to provide. All my tutors were always ready to help and to listen. I’m going to University of Lincoln to do a BA (Hons) in Education.” (Emily Kimpton)

Sally Alexander, CEO and Group Principal of Milton Keynes College Group, added: “We are all very proud of our students receiving their T Level results today. As our second cohort of learners to complete their T Levels, they have taken on the challenge of this new qualification and through hard work and dedication have achieved fantastic results. T Level courses have been designed with leading businesses and employers to give learners the knowledge and skills they need, producing the next wave of highly skilled, work-ready graduates and the industries they will work in. We are confident that whatever option they choose next, our T Level students will have successful and promising futures ahead of them”.

“We’re also incredibly proud of learners who received their BTEC results today and wish them every success with their next steps.”
