Course overview

Inclusive Learning students get support from teaching and support staff throughout their Study Programmes. They will learn new practical skills along with personal skills such as confidence, self-esteem, and teamwork all whilst gaining a qualification to help them for the future.

Whilst studying you will focus on a wide range of work related units and industry based scenarios. You will also study English & Maths to develop the skills needed to progress in the workplace.

PLEASE NOTE: Our Inclusive Learning courses are for those with learning disabilities or Education, Health and Care Plans.

What will I do?

During the Work to Learn – Inclusive Learning programme you will learn about:


• Career progression
• Self-assessment – confidence, strengths, skills
and qualities
• Planning and participating in an event
• Introduction to Customer service in the
hospitality industry
• Preparing and serving drinks

What’s next?

Studying the work to learn – inclusive learning programme will allow you to progress to a higher-level programme at Milton Keynes College or into employment if appropriate.

Is it for me?

If you are aged 16-24 years old, have special educational needs or require a supported learning environment and have an interest in preparing for the world of work, then this course is ideal for you.

Entry requirements

EHC (Educational Health Care) plan and to have completed an Entry Level 3 qualification.

Assessments have been designed to give you the opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and experience needed within a range of industry environments. You will continuously be assessed throughout set project work and practical assessments.

You will be required to attend college for a minimum of 16 hour, which will be taught sessions, including project work and online learning. The rest will be homework and assessments. You can expect to be in College for up to 4 days per week and classes will normally be between 9am and 5pm.
