Ruby Parmar appointed Chair of Governors at Milton Keynes College Group
Milton Keynes College Group is pleased to announce that Ruby Parmar is our new Chair of Governors, taking office from 1st January 2024.
Ruby has been a Governor at the College Group for five years and is an experienced business advisor, having worked in professional services for most of her career including as a partner at PwC from where she retired in 2019. She now holds various roles, including Chair of TOTM, Non Exec Director of Wells and Co and Twenty3. She is a Trustee of The Magic Bus and Women Leaders UK. Ruby is a member of the College Group’s Search & Governance and Remuneration Committees.
Ruby said, “It’s a privilege to be asked to be the Chair of the Governors at Milton Keynes College Group. I’ve worked with the College Group for many years and am proud of the work they do to create opportunities, champion talent and deliver Fairer Futures for the people of Milton Keynes, and across the country through our leading work on prison education. I’m looking forward to continuing the College Group’s work reaching out to more employers to build our community and offer more opportunities for young people to develop their careers and build their futures. I also want to see the College Group continue its leading work on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, a topic that’s both important to me personally and of vital importance to delivering excellence in education for everyone.”
Milton Keynes College Group would like to thank Ruby’s predecessor David Meadowcroft, who served as our Chair for over seven years, and sat on the board for close to nine years.
Sally Alexander said, “I’m thrilled that Ruby accepted the position of Chair of Governors. I know she’ll be a strong and dedicated partner and will be key in helping us achieve our strategic aim to deliver Fairer Futures for all. I’ve already had the pleasure of working with Ruby for several years and I know her support will be appreciated by the rest of the Board and the whole College Group.
“I’d also like to thank our retiring Chair, David Meadowcroft, for his tireless support and generosity over the last seven years that he served as Chair. He will be missed, but both Ruby and I are determined to continue the work to develop and expand Milton Keynes College Group in the years ahead.”
