This Free online Nutrition and Health Course provides a nationally recognised qualification and explores the influential factors such as the principles of healthy eating and weight management.

What will I do?

The Online course also introduces nutrition in the context of eating disorders, and explains how to prepare food safely in a home environment. This course will support you to improve your knowledge and provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the key topics around diet and health This course is split into 6 manageable units:

Unit 1: Explore principles of healthy eating

Unit 2: Consider the nutritional needs of a variety of individuals

Unit 3: Use food and nutrition to help plan a healthy diet

Unit 4: The principles of weight management

Unit 5: Understanding eating disorders

Unit 6: Principles of food safety for the home environment

Is it for me?

The qualification is ideal for anyone who wishes to develop their knowledge and skills surrounding diet and health, different forms of nutrition, planning a weight management programme and food safety awareness.

This health and nutrition course is delivered online using our learning platform Equal. Students must have full use of either a PC or laptop. You will need access to the Internet as this is an Online nutrition course.

You must already hold a L1 or equivalent English qualification

The course duration is 9 weeks and will requires approximately 4 – 6 hours of study per week plus the submission of 6 online assessments during the course. Course start dates are flexible, but learners are expected to successfully complete the programme within the allocated timescale.

Learners will receive a nationally recognised qualification by successfully completing this course. The Level 2 Certificate in Improving Personal Exercise, Health and Nutrition is awarded by TQUK.

This course requires the completion and passing of six short tutor marked online unit assessments.  Learners are allocated a health and nutrition course tutor who will mark assessments and are able to offer support through the online learning platform.

Entry requirements

You must already hold a Level 1 or equivalent English qualification.

All applicants must be at least 19 years old as of the 31st of August to enrol for the course and have a good level of English skills to a minimum of Level One standard.

Applicants aged 19-23 are only eligible if they have already achieved a full Level 2 qualification or equivalent. Please contact us for clarification if required.

Applicants aged 24+ do not require any prior academic qualifications, but do need to meet the required standard of English skills. Applicants must have lived in the UK for the last three years, currently reside in England, with a postcode outside of London, Greater Manchester, Greater London, Liverpool, Tees Valley Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, West Midlands, South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, West of England, Newcastle Upon Tyne, North Tyneside and Northumberland.
