Course overview

This course aims to increase the awareness of the types of bullying that can occur, what factors can create a bully, the legislations surrounding bullying and how to help an individual who is being bullied.

What will I do?

This course is split into 4 manageable units:

Unit 1: Principles of Bullying

Unit 2: Recognising bullying in children and young people

Unit 3: Action to be taken when a child or young person is being bullied

Unit 4: Understand government guidelines for bullying

By undertaking this course, you will gain formal recognition by obtaining a nationally recognised qualification. This will enable you to further your own continuous professional development, which could support you in improving your career prospects. You can also progress onto further qualifications.

Is it for me?

This course is ideal for learners who wish to increase their awareness and understanding of bullying, including how to recognise when bullying is taking place, take action to stop bullying and the legislation surrounding it. It is ideal for those working within childcare, education, and youth work.

You must already hold a Level 1 or equivalent English qualification

  • Delivered via online distance learning allowing you to choose when and where you study
  • Gain a nationally recognised qualification
  • Personal tutors are assigned to you to ensure you have the support needed to succeed
  • Learn how to recognise and take action to stop bullying

This course requires the completion and passing of four short tutor-marked online unit assessments. Learners are allocated a course tutor who will mark assessments and are able to offer support through the online learning platform.

The course duration is 6 weeks and will require approximately 4 hours of study per week plus the submission of 4 short online assessments during the course. Course start dates are flexible, but learners are expected to successfully complete the programme within the allocated timescale.

This course attracts funding for eligible students, so please check with the admissions team about your own circumstances. 

These courses are free for eligible applicants who successfully complete the course. A fee of £90 will be charged to learners who enrol onto the programme but do not complete the course.

Entry requirements

You must already hold a Level 1 or equivalent English qualification.

All applicants must be at least 19 years old as of the 31st of August to enrol for the course and have a good level of English skills to a minimum of Level One standard.

Applicants aged 19-23 are only eligible if they have already achieved a full Level 2 qualification or equivalent. Please contact us for clarification if required.

Applicants aged 24+ do not require any prior academic qualifications, but do need to meet the required standard of English skills. Applicants must have lived in the UK for the last three years, currently reside in England, with a postcode outside of London, Greater Manchester, Greater London, Liverpool, Tees Valley Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, West Midlands, South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, West of England, Newcastle Upon Tyne, North Tyneside and Northumberland.
