Course overview
This one-day course is designed for vehicle technicians who work with air conditioning systems. You’ll learn how to safely handle refrigerants and gain the F-Gas qualification required by law to work on vehicle air con systems.
Once completed, you’ll be certified to legally recover F-gases from vehicles, helping you meet EU regulations and grow your career.
What will I do?
You’ll take part in a mix of theory and practical training, learning how to safely work with vehicle refrigerants. This includes understanding how air conditioning systems work and the laws around F-gas handling.
Topics covered include:
- How vehicle air conditioning systems work
- How to safely recover, store and handle refrigerants
- Environmental responsibilities and legislation
- Hands-on training with specialist tools and equipment
By the end of the day, you’ll have both the skills and certification needed to handle F-gases safely and legally.
What’s next?
After completing this course, you’ll receive a lifetime certificate that proves you’re compliant with F-gas regulations.
This can:
- Boost your job prospects
- Help you progress into more specialised vehicle servicing roles
- Support your development if you run or work for a mobile repair business
- Contribute to other advanced automotive qualifications
Is it for me?
This course is ideal if you are:
- A qualified vehicle technician or mechanic
- Working with or planning to work with vehicle air con systems
- Looking to meet legal requirements for F-gas handling

How will I be assessed?

- An online multiple-choice exam
These assessments check both your understanding and your ability to apply what you’ve learned in a real-world setting.
How much will I have to study each week?
