Skills Academy Transition Pathway

Students will have weekly 1:1s with tutors and will have support from our excellent Wellbeing team. Assessment is primarily project-based and will be assessed in writing and verbally where appropriate.

The programme is assignment based and has 6 units totalling 21 credits.

Students will be in 3 days per week (including English and Maths).

We may recommend revision books for purchase during the course and there may be additional costs associated with transport to Industrial Placement and costs of relevant trips.

Units include local history, group working skills, communication skills in the workplace and problem-solving in the workplace. Students are given the chance to carry out projects in curriculum areas they may be interested in for the following academic year when completing two units. We are working with local visitor centres, museums and attractions to ensure that students are engaged with their local community.

Work experience options are focused on development and transition into mainstream courses. We are working closely with local organisations and will offer the chance to experience work placements in a range of areas.
