Course overview
This course is designed for those who want to start or grow a career as a Teaching Assistant. You’ll build the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to support teachers and help children and young people learn and thrive in the classroom. It’s a great starting point if you’re looking to get into education or gain a recognised qualification for your current role.
What will I do?
You’ll study 12 key units that cover everything you need to know about working as a teaching assistant. As part of the course, you’ll also need to complete 300 hours of work or volunteering in an educational setting. This could be a nursery, school, college or university. If you’re not already working in one, you’ll need to arrange your own placement.
