This qualification allows learners to expand their digital skills and use them to secure opportunities through digital and ICT in the workplace or provide progression opportunities in specific area

What will I do?

This qualification consists of 5 mandatory units that support you in developing your skills to access the available and relevant opportunities that match your capabilities and aspirations.

  • Developing digital career skills
  • Management of Information
  • Digital device safety awareness
  • Communication and Productivity
  • Digital Security

These units provide additional learning opportunities to expand on skills previously learned and underpin a greater understanding of relevant occupational areas. Learners who complete the qualification will be equipped with the knowledge, skills, and resources to take advantage of opportunities to help them achieve their aspirations and circumstances.

What’s next?

On completion of this qualification, you will be prepared to progress to various level 3 qualifications and a range of occupations within the sector, including, but not limited to, apprenticeships.

Is it for me?

This programme is for people who wish to further develop their digital and ICT skills in the workplace or who are looking to enter the workforce or change careers. Students must be able to commit to the two terms of the programme and have access to IT outside of college for independent work.

Entry requirements

Successful completion of a Pre-Course Questionnaire and interview.

Understand cyber security principles
Threat intelligence in cyber security
Cyber security testing, vulnerabilities and controls
Cyber security incident response
Understand legislation and ethical conduct within cyber security
Professional skills and behaviours for cyber security

The tutor will set homework and independent learning activities during the course, and verbal and written feedback will be provided.

You will produce an internally assessed portfolio of evidence, which is evaluated by college staff and externally quality assured by NCFE. This portfolio will be made up of various assessments such as production of products, written work and observation.

You will be in college for 3 hours a week and have approximately 2 hours of work outside of college time. Students must be able to commit to the two terms of the programme and have access to IT out of college for independent work.
