What will I do?

During this course, you will develop fundamental digital skills across key areas, including:

  • Using Devices & Handling Information – Navigating and managing digital tools effectively.
  • Creating & Editing – Producing and modifying digital content.
  • Communicating – Engaging safely and effectively in digital communication.
  • Transacting – Completing online transactions securely.
  • Being Safe & Responsible Online – Understanding cybersecurity, privacy, and responsible digital usage.

You will learn through interactive lessons, practical exercises, and guided tutor support, ensuring you gain both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience.

What’s next?

Upon completing this course, learners can progress to:

  • Further Digital Study – Advancing to Level 2 or beyond in digital skills.
  • Employment Opportunities – Applying digital skills in various job roles.
  • Further Education – Exploring additional qualifications in technology or related fields.

Is it for me?

This course is designed for adults (aged 19 and over as of 31st July 2024) who are eager to improve their digital skills for personal, professional, or educational purposes.

You should be committed to attending all sessions and must be available during the course dates.

This course is free for most applicants—express your interest to check eligibility. If you have lived in the UK for less than three years, fees may apply, but support options are available.

Entry requirements

No prior digital skills or qualifications are required. However, learners must be able to understand and communicate in English at a safe, average talking speed.

If your initial interview indicates that your IT skills are above the course level, we will guide you toward a more suitable course.

Your tutor will provide continuous feedback through classwork assessments, ensuring you track your progress and develop your skills effectively throughout the course.

Assessment is through one externally set examination, which includes a written paper and practical tasks.

The course schedule is flexible and will be based on demand. It is expected to be either:

  • One or two mornings per week OR
  • One evening per week
    Each session will last approximately 3 hours
