This qualification does not qualify you to practice as a counsellor.
However, it can support your progression within employment in a number of roles including:

Is it for me?
This programme is for people who wish to further develop their counselling skills or develop knowledge of counselling which can be applied in the workplace or are looking to enter the workforce/change careers. Students must be able to commit to the three terms of the programme and have access to IT out of college for independent work. You would benefit from being a self-motivated learner.
Entry requirements
There are no specific prior skills/knowledge a learner must have for this qualification. However, learners may find it helpful if they have already achieved a level 2 counselling qualification or hold a level 2 in qualification in English. This is not essential as a full Initial Advice and Guidance will be offered to you. Successful completion of a Pre-Course Questionnaire and interview.

How will I be assessed?
Each learner must create a portfolio of evidence generated from appropriate assessment tasks which demonstrates achievement of all the learning outcomes associated with each unit. The assessment tasks should allow the learner to respond to a real-life situation that they may face when in employment.
Tasks will be written assignments, digital recordings & reflections.
How much will I have to study each week?
Students will be in college or online for three hours a week with an additional 2 – 3 hours of private study.
