What will I do?
You will be introduced to the hospitality and catering industry through a variety of work experience opportunities, both on and off campus. You will develop your knowledge and understanding of professional cooking, as well as health and safety in the kitchen, costs and menu planning, as well as practical skills. You will learn how to prepare and cook stocks, soups and sauces, and how to prepare fruit, vegetables, meat and fish dishes. You will also learn how to produce biscuit, cake and sponge products. Learning and working across both The Brasserie and at Silverstone, you will experience life in a busy kitchen. You will receive support and guidance required to get your technical skills up to a high standard, giving you the confidence to push the boundaries and expand your learning.
What’s next?
You could progress to study Professional Cookery at an Advanced level, taking the next steps towards a successful career in the hospitality and catering industry. On this course you will have the opportunity to work alongside professional staff at race days and other prestigious events at Silverstone Circuits. You could also progress onto an Apprenticeship where you can further your training on the job, and earn a wage at the same time.
Is it for me?
