The Level 2 Team Leader Course develops practical skills for effective team leadership, covering principles of team leading, business understanding, communication, performance management, equality, relationship building, health and safety, and presentation skills, delivered online with personal tutor support.

Course overview

All businesses need good leaders in order to be successful and an effective team leader will make sure that their team is happy and motivated within the workplace. This Level 2 Team Leader Course will develop and improve your practical skills in order to become a successful team leader and improve the morale within a workplace.

What will I do?

This course is split into 8 manageable units:

Unit 1: Principles of team leading

Unit 2: Understand business

Unit 3: Understand how to communicate work-related information

Unit 4: Understand how to mange performance and conflict in the workplace

Unit 5: Principles of equality and diversity in the workplace

Unit 6: Understand how to develop working relationships with colleagues

Unit 7: Understand health and safety procedures in the workplace

Unit 8: Understand how to develop and deliver a presentation

What’s next?

By undertaking this Level 2 Team Leader Course, you will gain formal recognition by obtaining a nationally recognised qualification. This will enable you to further your own continuous professional development, which could support you in improving your career prospects. You can also progress onto further qualifications.

Is it for me?

This Level 2 Team Leader Course is aimed at learners who wish to gain further skills to develop their role as a team leader or are new to a team leading role.

Please note: Learners must be employed in a relevant role within the sector they are applying for.

The course duration is 10 weeks and will requires approximately 4 – 6 hours of study per week plus the submission of 8 online assessments during the course. Course start dates are flexible, but learners are expected to successfully complete the programme within the allocated timescale.

Learners will receive a nationally recognised qualification by successfully completing this course. The Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Team Leading is awarded by TQUK.

The course requires three assessments to be completed and passed to achieve the qualification. Students are allocated a tutor who will mark their assessments, and can be contacted by telephone or email. This course requires the completion and passing of eight short tutor marked online unit assessments. Learners are allocated a course tutor who will mark assessments and are able to offer support through the online learning platform.

Entry requirements

You must already hold a Level 1 or equivalent English qualification.

All applicants must be at least 19 years old as of the 31st of August to enrol for the course and have a good level of English skills to a minimum of Level One standard.

Applicants aged 19-23 are only eligible if they have already achieved a full Level 2 qualification or equivalent. Please contact us for clarification if required.

Applicants aged 24+ do not require any prior academic qualifications, but do need to meet the required standard of English skills. Applicants must have lived in the UK for the last three years, currently reside in England, with a postcode outside of London, Greater Manchester, Greater London, Liverpool, Tees Valley Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, West Midlands, South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, West of England, Newcastle Upon Tyne, North Tyneside and Northumberland.
