Course overview
The VTCT Level 2 Certificate in Nail Treatments is a practical, career-focused qualification designed to prepare you for work as a natural nail technician. Suitable for learners aged 19 and over, it provides the essential skills and knowledge needed to deliver professional manicure and pedicure treatments in a salon or self-employed setting.
You will develop hands-on technical ability alongside an understanding of health and safety, client care, communication, anatomy and physiology, and nail products and equipment, helping you work confidently and professionally with clients.
What will I do?
This course combines theory learning with practical salon-style training, so you gain real-world experience.
You will study and practise:
- Anatomy and physiology relevant to nail treatments
- Health and safety practices in a salon environment
- Client care and communication within the beauty industry
- Practical manicure techniques
- Practical pedicure techniques
- The theory behind manicure and pedicure treatments
By the end of the course, you will be confident in delivering professional natural nail services and advising clients appropriately.
What’s next?
After completing this qualification, you may choose to continue your studies in other beauty or hairdressing areas, such as:
- Cosmetic make-up
- Indian head massage
- Waxing services
- Hairdressing
Alternatively, many learners go on to start their own nail business, work freelance, or gain employment in a salon or spa environment.
