Our focus on green skills aligns directly with the needs of local employers, who have expressed concerns about a shortage of qualified professionals in this sector. As government initiatives promote sustainable housing and the transition to net zero, there is a pressing need for skilled individuals to carry out essential upgrades and installations.
We are proud to announce the launch of our new standalone Green Skills Centre at the Chaffron Way campus. This innovative facility will be dedicated to providing industry-focused training and skills in green technologies, focusing on carbon reduction, energy efficiency, and promoting a sustainable future for the construction sector.
We are committed to driving innovation, reducing carbon emissions, and creating a positive impact on the environment and society. The Green Skills Centre will play a crucial role in achieving these goals. The training programmes we will deliver at the new centre offer a comprehensive approach to green skills development, focusing on full installations rather than just specific components. By working closely with industry experts and employers, we ensure that our curriculum is relevant and meets the evolving needs of the sector.
Key Features
Cutting-edge green technologies: Learn about the latest advancements in sustainable practices, including air source heat pumps, biomass water heating, human energy conversion, hydrogen energy conversion, rainwater harvesting, solar PV, solar, water, and wind energy generation, and wood waste resource management.
Expanded curriculum and capacity: The new centre will broaden our curriculum and increase workshop capacity to accommodate an additional 40 students.
Hands-on learning: Gain practical experience with scaled-down renewable energy equipment training rigs and systems.

Our Courses
Our comprehensive curriculum offers three distinct qualifications, each designed to equip you with the essential knowledge and skills for a successful career. While these qualifications can be pursued individually, they work seamlessly together to provide a well-rounded education and enhance your job prospects.
Level 3 Award in the Design, Installation and Commissioning of Electrical Energy Storage Systems
This course is designed for experienced electricians seeking to expand their expertise and obtain a formal qualification in the installation of electrical energy storage systems.
Level 3 Award in the Installation of Small Scale Solar Photovoltaic Systems
This course is designed to equip qualified electricians with the skills and knowledge needed to install small-scale photovoltaic (PV) systems. Upon completion, you’ll be able to achieve formal recognition of your competence through industry-approved schemes.
Level 3 Award in the Requirements for the Installation of Electric Vehicle Charging Points
Learn the essential technical skills and safety requirements for installing electric vehicle charging points. Gain industry-recognized certification to demonstrate your expertise and open up new career opportunities in the growing electric vehicle market.
Green Skills Bundle
