What will I do?

You will study three modules making up the Marketing Principles unit.

Discovering Marketing: Know the role and function of marketing within organisations and understand the factors that influence customer behaviour

The Marketing Environment: Identify the key components of the marketing environment and how to collate relevant information

The Marketing Mix: Understand the concepts and elements of the marketing mix and the application in different contextual situations You will be assessed via an online multiple-choice examination covering the learning outcomes of the module above

What’s next?

On completion, you may wish to complete the CIM Level 3 Award in Digital Fundamentals which would complete your full Level 3 Certificate in Professional Digital Marketing.

Is it for me?

Are you currently working in a marketing role, or looking to progress into one? This course will equip you with the underpinning knowledge and skills to enable you to understand the fundamentals of marketing and its application in the business environment. By the end of your studies, you will understand how marketing can lead to business success.

Are there any additional costs?

CIMCIM membership is £65 for affiliated student membership and then it is £110 for the assessment. These fees are set by CIM and subject to change.

How will my progress be monitored?

You will have weekly face to face sessions (on campus and for some sessions online) with your tutor and ample opportunity for 1:1 tutorials to make sure you progress as you should.

How will I be assessed?

This unit is assessed by examination.  You will sit a multiple-choice test in college under exam conditions at the end of the unit.

How much will I have to study each week?

You will be in classes 3 hours per week for the duration of your studies.  How much extra you put in is largely dependent on how keen you are to excel in your studies. Most students set aside the same time again to research and read about marketing.

Are there any entry requirements?

You are likely to be at an early stage in your marketing career or looking for your first marketing job and would like to learn while you work.
