This programme leads to Associate Membership of CIPD and is the qualification of choice for employers and HR professionals who are building their career in HR management.

Your studies will lead you to theories, models and most importantly the how to apply them in the workplace.  It is a blend of academic/business focus and will provide a good base to enable you to move forward in your HR management and/or general management roles.  Following this and with relevant senior management experience you could progress to CIPD L7 Advanced Diploma in Strategic People Management.

Your written work is assessed by your tutor, and you will receive constructive feedback to help you  develop your skills.

DO I NEED TO PURCHASE ANYTHING?

Your course fees do not include your student membership of CIPD which is mandatory for everyone studying CIPD qualifications.  If you are not already in membership and your subscription up to date, you will need to pay this directly to CIPD shortly after your course commences.  The amount may vary depending on your circumstances, but you should budget for approx. £185.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

No exams!  Each of the 7 modules will be assessed by an assignment focused on the learning outcomes for the module. Typically, around 4,000-4,500 words it could be a written report/ briefing notes supported by a presentation/a case study.  Each module is different, and the assessment will reflect practical application of relevant theories and models.

HOW MUCH WILL I HAVE TO STUDY?

ARE THERE ANY ENTRY REQUIREMENTS?

There are no specific educational qualifications as such.  Experience of dealing with people in an HR or in a general management type role is more important provided you are confident in written English.  This is a L5 qualification which is equivalent to undergraduate level. We offer plenty of support to help you develop your study and research skills, so no need to worry if that is something you have not done before.   If English is not your first language, you may need to demonstrate written and spoken skills at least at ESOL L3, and we may ask you to do a short-written test prior to you being offered a place.
