Level 2 Certificate in Nail Treatments

The units you will study are likely to include:

• Manicure and Pedicure techniques, including relevant anatomy and physiology
• Health and safety procedures
• Client care and communication
• Appropriate legislation

During your time at College, the emphasis will be placed on practical aspects of the course. You also need time to study, practice at home and revise for exams, assignments and homework. Please be aware that you will be expected to set aside a minimum of three hours per week to study and practice at home.

Initially, students will work on each other. They will be assessed on external clients. Students should be prepared to allow other students to practice on them.

On completion, you may be interested in Cosmetic Make-Up, Indian Head Massage or Swedish Massage Techniques. Your tutor will discuss progression routes with you.

Alternatively, you could seek employment as a Manicurist in a spa or set up your own mobile business.

You must have a recognised professional qualification in manicure and pedicure. As the course includes written tests and course work, you will be expected to demonstrate a good understanding of the English language at the interview.
