What’s next?

On successful completion you will be eligible to apply for the Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training. This qualification will increase your chance of being employed to teach in the post 16 sector.

Is it for me?

Have you always wanted to teach but didn’t know how to get started? Are you considering a career change? If you have a genuine interest in teaching or assessing in Further Education, this course is an ideal starting point even if you are not currently in a teaching role.

Entry criteria is an interest in teaching, learning and assessment. You should have a Level 3 in your subject specialist area and have or be working towards a GCSE or level 2 equivalent for maths and English.

HOW MUCH WILL I HAVE TO STUDY EACH WEEK?

You will attend college for one evening per week. There is an expectation that you will spend 3 – 5 hours per week studying outside the classroom.

HOW WILL MY PROGRESS BE MONITORED?

Your progress will provided through written feedback on your assignments. Your practice will be assessed via a 15 minute micro-teach at the end of the course.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

You will be required to complete a diagnostic assessment of your maths, English and ICT skills.
