LEVEL 2 CERTIFICATE IN INFORMATION, ADVICE OR GUIDANCE
What will I do?
The course explores communication techniques and how values, attitudes and beliefs can affect interactions.
The Certificate in Information, Advice or Guidance comprises of five units:
- Unit 1 – Information, advice or guidance in practice
- Unit 2 – Developing interaction skills for information, advice or guidance
- Unit 3 – Managing information
- Unit 4 – Information, advice or guidance with groups
- Unit 5 – Signposting and referral in information, advice or guidance
*Funding is subject to learners meeting set eligibility criteria; this may be discussed prior to the start of any course. Learners must be aged 19+ and have lived in the EU for the past three years. Please note that a withdrawal fee of £90 is payable if learners decide to withdraw from the course.
By undertaking this course, you will gain formal recognition by obtaining a nationally recognised qualification. This will enable you to further your own continuous professional development, which could support you in improving your career prospects. You can also progress onto further qualifications.
Is it for me?
Are you working in a role where you provide information, advice or guidance? For example, are you a mentor, support worker or working in a voluntary organisation or with adult and community groups? This course will enable you to appropriately guide and support people and will enable you to gain a nationally recognised qualification.
HOW MUCH WILL I HAVE TO STUDY EACH WEEK?
The course duration is 10 weeks and requires three to four hours of study per week. Course start dates are flexible, but learners are expected to successfully complete the programme of study within the allocated timescale.
WHAT KIND OF QUALIFICATION IS THIS?
Learners will receive a nationally recognised qualification by successfully completing this course. The Level 2 Certificate in Information, Advice or Guidance is awarded by CACHE.
HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?
The course requires two assessments to be completed and passed to achieve the qualification. Students are allocated a tutor who will mark their assessments and can be contacted by telephone or email if required.
ARE THERE ANY ENTRY REQUIREMENTS?
This course does require the learner to reflect on their own workplace; this it is only suitable to people who currently deliver Information, Advice or Guidance in the workplace.
Students must be at least 19 years of age to enrol for the course.
Applicants aged 19-23 are eligible if they have already achieved a full Level 2 qualification or equivalent. Please contact us for clarification if required.
