LEVEL 2 CERTIFICATE IN FALLS PREVENTION AWARENESS
What will I do?
The purpose of this course will be to examine the impact and consequences of a fall, risks and hazards which contribute towards falls, and how to reduce the risk of falls. It will increase awareness and understanding of falls and their prevention which will allow the learner to progress into, or within, employment in healthcare or social care settings.
The Certificate in Falls Prevention Awareness consists of four units:
- Unit 1 – Falls in Context
- Unit 2 – The Risk Factors and Causes of Falls
- Unit 3 – Falls Assessment and Prevention
- Unit 4 – Managing Falls
*Funding is subject to learners meeting set eligibility criteria; this may be discussed prior to the start of any course. Learners must be aged 19+ and have lived in the EU for the past three years. Please note that a withdrawal fee of £90 is payable if learners decide to withdraw from the course.
By undertaking this course, you will gain formal recognition by obtaining a nationally recognised qualification. This will enable you to further your own continuous professional development, which could support you in improving your career prospects. You can also progress onto further qualifications.
Is it for me?
This qualification is aimed at anyone working in a healthcare or social care environment, particularly those that support older people, who have an increased propensity to falls.
HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?
The course requires two assessments to be completed and passed to achieve the qualification. Students are allocated a tutor who will mark their assessments, and can be contacted by telephone or email if required.
WHAT KIND OF QUALIFICATION IS THIS?
Learners will receive a nationally recognised qualification by successfully completing this course. The Level 2 Certificate in Falls Prevention Awareness is awarded by CACHE.
HOW MUCH WILL I HAVE TO STUDY EACH WEEK?
The course duration is 6 weeks, and requires three to four hours of study per week. Course start dates are flexible, but learners are expected to successfully complete the programme of study within the allocated timescale.
ARE THERE ANY ENTRY REQUIREMENTS?
Students must be at least 19 years of age to enrol for the course.
Applicants aged 19-23 are eligible if they have already achieved a full Level 2 qualification or equivalent. Please contact us for clarification if required.
Applicants aged 24+ do not require any prior academic qualifications, but need a reasonable level of English language ability in order to complete a distance learning course.
Applicants must have lived in the EU for the last three years, currently reside in England, with a postcode outside of Greater Manchester, Liverpool City, Cambridge & Peterborough, Tees Valley, and the West Midlands. Please contact providers in your local area for alternative options.
