Beauty Therapy Intermediate
The world of beauty is an exciting industry to be a part of, whether you choose to work in a spa, salon or running your own business. Over 245,000 people work in the industry across 55,000 businesses and it turns over £6.2 billion a year in the UK alone.
The industry is based on creativity, innovation and what’s on trend. From contouring to charcoal face masks or even micro blading, beauty is fast-paced and ever-evolving, meaning you’re guaranteed to have a diverse and exciting career.
What will I do?
This qualification includes the required treatments to work effectively as a beauty specialist including: waxing techniques, applying make-up, eyelash and eyebrow treatments, manicure, pedicure, facial skincare, client care, health, safety and salon reception duties.
Career opportunities from this qualification include working in a commercial beauty salon as well as becoming an Independent/self-employed/mobile beauty specialist.
Whilst this qualification’s main purpose is to prepare you for employment as a beauty specialist, learners often choose to develop their skills further by progressing onto Beauty Therapy Advanced, allowing you to gain employment within spas and performing advanced beauty treatments within salons.

As a qualified Beauty Therapist you will have a multitude of options open to you. This course is ideal to develop your skills to move on to our Beauty Therapy Advanced course. Your skills can take you wherever in the world you may want to go. You can find work, start your own business or you could decide to use your qualifications towards higher education, perhaps at university, to specialise in your favourite area.
Students from Milton Keynes College have found work with some very prestigious employers including top spas like Champneys and Aqua Sana at Centre Parcs. Others have travelled the world with the prestigious cruise liner, Steiner.
