BAKERY & PATISSERIE INTERMEDIATE

This industry is firmly in the spotlight thanks to the continuing popularity of TV shows including The Great British Bake Off and Masterchef. Famous chefs are now seen as international celebrities, with the likes of Raymond Blanc and Gordon Ramsay being known for their personalities as much as their culinary skills.

Whether you’ve got a passion for French patisserie or are all about different types of bread, you can look forward to a rewarding career full of opportunity and creativity.

What will I do

You will develop your technical baking skills in our industry-standard Claire Clark Academy patisserie kitchen. From working with chocolate, to artisan baking and preparing for service, you will become accustomed to working in a professional environment. You will expand your knowledge of produce and ingredients as well as the skills used to prepare, cook, and finish bakery and patisserie products. You will become aware of environmental sustainability and develop commercial skills, all of which are highly valued by employers.

What’s next?

Once you’ve successfully completed this course you’ll be perfectly positioned to progress to Bakery & Patisserie Advanced. Here you’ll be able to further develop your technical skills, working more independently and getting creative with your creations.

Is it for me?

Got a passion for all things patisserie? Want to learn how to create intricate but edible pieces? This course will offer you support and guidance to grow both your technical skill in the kitchen and your personal study skills. You must be dedicated to your learning, think logically and be able to take direction in an often heated environment.

Entry Requirements
You require GCSE grades at 4/C or above in English and Maths.
